Newbury and District Branch

Exercise is an important part of healthy living for everyone. For people with Parkinson’s exercise it is a vital component to maintaining balance, mobility and activities required for daily living. Exercise and physical activity can improve many Parkinson’s symptoms.

If you are new to exercise you can find more information on the sort of exercise that might suit you here. In addition to a range of exercise classes organised by the branch, members also have access to specialised gym equipment at West Berkshire Therapy Centre in Thatcham and the MOVE suite at BST Fitness in Newbury.

Exercises classes provided by the branch are heavily subsidised - currently costing £1 per class - and the MOVE Suite costs just £2.15 per session. Details of all our activities can be found in the event calendar.

“I have received substantial benefit both physically from using their machines, and mentally, not just as an extra benefit of regular exercise , but from the interaction and conversation with other users.”
