Welford Park - Walk for Parkinson's

Parkinson's UK is once again holding the Welford Park Walk for Parkinson's on 10th July. This is a great opportunity for friends and family who enjoy a good walk to explore the private and public paths around the Welford Park Estate whilst raising funds for research. There is a 2.5 and more challenging 6.5 mile route around the Estate. Both routes are fully marshalled and explore both private and public parts of the glorious Welford Park. Details here

Incurable Optimist

Paul Mayhew Archer

Following the sell out success of Paul Mayhew-Archer's stand up show on 2nd April, we were delighted to welcome Paul back for another evening of comedy at St George’s Hall, Newbury on Saturday 21st May.

Paul’s observations of both life and the challenges of Parkinson’s brought smiles and laughter to the audience whilst raising a great deal of money for the branch.

With matched funding courtesy of the Good Exchange we raised in excess of £7,000 over the two evenings.

Coffee Morning at the Town Hall

After an absence of two years due to Covid, we held our annual coffee morning in the historic Council Chambers at Newbury Town Hall on Saturday, 30 April 2022.

Thanks to our volunteers and supporters, we held a very successful event.

Our volunteers worked hard in the kitchen area providing hot drinks and selling the delicious cakes made by our talented members and supporters.

There was a steady queue at the tombola, which offered an impressive range of prizes donated by members.

And to top it all, the icing on the cake was the great support given by Town Crier, Brian Sylvester who made sure everyone knew about our fundraiser!
