Parkinson’s UK offer a free confidential helpline – 0808 800 0303. It is open Monday to Friday 9am – 7pm and Saturday 10am – 2pm or email


Their trained advisers, including specialist Parkinson’s nurses, can provide information and advice about all aspects of living with Parkinson’s, including medical issues – symptoms and treatments, benefits and health and social care. If local information or in-depth support is needed you will be referred to the relevant service, whether that is a Parkinson’s local adviser or one of their specialist advisers. The local adviser for our district is Tina Kislingbury, part of the South Central team of advisers.


Parkinson’s care in West Berkshire is provided by Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust. A team of Parkinson’s nurses is headed up by Carrie James, Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist for long term neurological conditions.
